Yarrow, Colorado - Alchillea millefolium
|
|
|
Plants produce flat heads of tightly clustered flowers. Colors include darker shades of red, pink and
apricot as well as bright shades of yellow, terra-cotta, beige and white. The flowers attract butterflies and can also be
dried for use as everlastings. Dozens of flowers with 18- to 24-inch stems. Cut back after flowering and the plants
will reflower. Average garden soil. Zones 3 - 9.

Yarrow, Moonshine - Alchillea
|

Silvery fern like leaf texture, scented. Grows to 2 feet tall with yellow flat flowers at the top of the
stems. Loved by butterflies. Cut back fading flowers and more will replace them. Bloom time is summer. Average garden soil.
In mixed bed or line a walk, looks great most anywhere. Zone 3 - 9

fern like foliage. Makes a good cut flower or can be dried for arrangements. Good in a mixed bed or as edging on a border.

Tall evergreen sword like leaves, 3 to 4 feet. White flowers on a tall spike that grows up in the center
of the plant in summer. Produces pups (babies) around the flowering plant. The flowering plant dies after flowering. Used
around windows because of the sharpness of the leaves keeps unwanted visitors out. Full sun, average to dry soil. Zones
4 - 9.

Zebra Grass- Miscanthus sinesus
|

Tall grass used for accent or back of border. Makes a nice thick clump the longer it is in the same spot. Grows 5 to
9 feet. Produces a tall plume above the grass leaves in late summer. The plumes turn more silver in the winter and may last
until the following spring. Be sure to cut back close to the ground in early spring before new growth starts.
